    Hair By Albert

Albert is a Dubai‑based, internationally recognized hair stylist with a reputation so strong that clients often travel across borders just to book his services. His large social media following drives most of his clientele, but managing bookings and deposits through direct messages created friction and inefficiencies. He needed a streamlined digital solution.

    Highlights

    Project Overview

The goal was to create a modern landing page that simplified the client journey.
    The site needed to:

    • Platform Choice: WordPress was selected for its flexibility, scalability, and ease of management
    • Booking System: Acuity Scheduling was integrated to automate appointments and reduce manual handling.
    • Payments: Multiple gateways were added, allowing clients to choose between deposits or full payments.
    • Security: Wordfence was implemented alongside hosting‑level hardening to protect against threats.
    • Design: A clean, responsive layout optimized for mobile and desktop, ensuring effortless navigation and booking.

    The Challenge

    The solution

To address these challenges, I designed and developed a streamlined landing page using WordPress. This provided flexibility and scalability for future growth, such as expanding into eCommerce. Key elements included:

    Acuity Scheduling Integration:

Automated appointment booking with options for clients to pay a 50% deposit or the full amount upfront.

    Payment Gateway Setup:

PayPal, Stripe, and credit card support to accommodate international clients.

    Security Measures:

Wordfence and hosting‑level hardening to protect sensitive client data and transactions.

    Responsive Design:

A modern, mobile‑friendly interface that made booking effortless from anywhere in the world.

    The Result

Albert now has a professional, fully responsive website that:

    • Enables clients worldwide to book appointments directly online.
    • Reduces friction in the booking and payment process.
    • Positions his brand for future expansion into product sales.
    • PageSpeed scores are now consistently above 90
    • Provides peace of mind with robust security measures.

I approached this business owner with a straightforward observation: his website was costing him clients. It was slow, unresponsive, and poorly structured—creating friction at every step of the user journey. He agreed to a full audit, and what I found was significant.

    Highlights

    Project Overview

After gaining admin access, I discovered the WordPress dashboard was neglected. The issues weren’t just frontend problems—they ran deep:

    • Performance score of 60 on mobile, 63 on desktop
    • Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): 7.4s on desktop, 3.0s on mobile
    • Unoptimized images up to 500kb on homepage
    • Excessive DOM bloat from nested containers
    • Poor mobile responsiveness with critical CTA buried in footer
    • Missing image metadata (ALT text, captions, descriptions)
    • CORS errors and failed resource loading

    The Challenge

    The solution

We didn’t just redesign the pages. The work involved improving how the entire site is structured and used.

    Booking form moved above fold
    Mobile responsiveness optimized
    Consistent design system implemented
    Reduced cognitive load on CTAs
Repositioned booking form above the fold (reduced scroll friction)
    Optimized for mobile-first responsiveness
    Added visual hierarchy for urgency

    Database cleaned and optimized
    Security hardened with Apache rules
    Caching strategy implemented
    CDN delivering assets globally
    Reduced DOM bloat significantly
Fixed layout shift issues through unified styling

    Mobile performance: 63 → 92
    Desktop performance: 68 → 95
LCP reduced from 7.4s to 1.2
Load time reduced from 3.0s to 1.0s
Zero CORS errors and failed resources

Primary CTA now accessible on hero (no footer scroll required)
    Mobile experience mirrors desktop efficiency
    Form context clear and action-oriented
    Reduced abandonment friction

    The Result

The new website feels a lot more usable compared to the older version. It’s easier to navigate, looks cleaner, and works better across devices.

    • The site now follows accessibility standards while still looking modern
    • SEO performance improved by around 12% after the redesign
    • The updated design led to about 42% increase in conversions
    • PageSpeed scores are now consistently above 90
    • The improved website and overall presence contributed to LOG being acquired by Penn State
